Understand what happens during the school day
Ask the office and Hifz teacher how time is divided between new memorisation, recent revision and older revision. Find out which academic subjects continue, who teaches them and how parents are told about progress. Record the answers in one place.
At Umul Madaris, the stated Hifz day runs from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with a one-hour schooling section at half time. The programme is for Grade 3 upwards. Confirm the exact timetable and subject arrangements with the office; Ramadan timings may differ.
Let the teacher set the memorisation work
Ask what your child should practise at home and how to record any difficulty. Do not add a new memorisation target simply because another child has progressed further. If you are unsure about a pronunciation or correction, note the point and ask the qualified teacher.
Parents can provide a quiet place, help the child bring the correct materials and encourage attendance. You do not need to replace the Hifz teacher to give useful support.
Make a simple home plan
Start by writing down travel, meals and family commitments. Then place the work agreed with teachers into the time that remains. Keep revision and academic homework identifiable rather than treating the whole evening as one long study session.
For example, a family might plan a break after returning home, an agreed revision period and a separate homework period. This is an example of organising tasks, not a prescribed timetable or a promise about how quickly Hifz will be completed.
Review the routine together
Ask your child which part feels manageable and where they need help. Discuss repeated difficulty with the teacher early instead of increasing pressure at home. Praise care, effort and consistency, not only the amount memorised.
